Black Pulls the Plug on Hollinger Site

Posted
By: E&P Staff The legal skirmish between Conrad Black and the board of Hollinger International has hit the Internet.

Ravelston Corp., which Black controls, has hosted the hollinger.com site for years. But this week, Ravelston executives decided to pull the plug because Hollinger is no longer paying for the hosting service, The Wall Street Journal reports. Hollinger had been paying as much as $38 million a year to Ravelston, an amount some company shareholders have said was unusually high.

A Hollinger spokesman said the company is trying to reclaim the hollinger.com address, but has set up a new site, hollingerinternational.com, in the meantime.

Black and the company, which he still controls through voting shares, are suing each other in a Delaware court over Black's move to sell his controlling stake to Press Holdings International. Hollinger board members allege Black stripped the company of more than $200 million and accepted unauthorized payments. Black has denied those charges.
