Blog Visitor Provides 'Dilbert' Dialogue Suggestion

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Feb. 4 "Dilbert" comic will have a line of dialogue a visitor to cartoonist Scott Adams' blog helped write.

Adams, in a blog post, asked for reader input this way: "Dilbert is at a sales call explaining how his company's product fits with the technology of the other company. I need one realistic-sounding sentence that Dilbert would utter that is mind-numbingly technical and still realistic. Leave suggestions in comments and I'll credit you in the blog as co-writer for a day."

About an hour later, the cartoonist added to his blog post: "The winner is Randy, with his suggestion of 'We'll use Web services employing XML, SOAP, and WSDL to develop interoperable HTTP modules.' I changed it slightly to 'Our Web services employ XML, SOAP, and WSDL to achieve interoperable HTTP modules.' I hope that means something."

Adams -- whose blog can be accessed at Dilbert.com -- does the "Dilbert" comic for more than 2,000 newspapers via United Media.
