By: E&P Staff Bloomberg LP said Monday that it is adding a live feed of The New York Times to its Bloomberg Professional service.
At no additional charge, subscribers to the information service, using the nearly ubiquitous Bloomberg terminals, will get the feed. It includes the complete newspaper, as well as blogs, posts on the Times' Web site, breaking news alerts, and access to archives going back nearly 30 years.
Bloomberg said it is the first information system to carry and host a live feed of content from the Times.
Bloomberg Professional service already offers about 100 news services, including Associated Press, Gannett, United Press International, Deutsche PresseAgentur, Agence France-Presse, ANSA, Xinhua News Agency, Kyodo News, Agencia O Globo, Asahi Shimbun, Agencia EFE, Yomiuri Shimbun, Comtex News Network and Agencia Estado.
"The addition of The Times content reflects the importance of timely news for financial professionals," Bloomberg said in an announcement. "Bloomberg has applied its leading capabilities in news, data and analytics to design a platform that collects news in 38 languages and lets users create real-time alerts and searches based on thousands of topics, securities and people."
