BLOX Digital is thrilled to announce the beta launch of BLOX NXT (pronounced "next"), a groundbreaking new content management system that is set to redefine how media organizations manage, monetize and distribute content. Starting this December, select partners will get a first look at BLOX NXT's suite of innovative capabilities, including AI-powered tools, collaborative document editing and streamlined subscriber management workflow solutions.
BLOX NXT builds on the established success of BLOX CMS, integrating cutting-edge innovations designed to redefine content creation, audience engagement and revenue generation. Key benefits include:
“BLOX NXT is built for organizations that rely on content creation to power their business,” said Brad Ward, CEO of BLOX Digital. “BLOX Digital is dedicated to providing the best tools in the industry, and this is our boldest innovation yet.”
A complete solution for media organizations
The all-new document editor delivers a sleek, intuitive experience for telling impactful stories. From WYSIWYG visual editing tools to AI-assisted content optimization, the platform enhances every stage of the editorial process.
According to Ward, BLOX NXT delivers tangible benefits for all functional areas of an organization, not just content creators.
“BLOX NXT isn’t just another hosted CMS for building websites and managing content,” Ward said. “It's specifically designed for media organizations. With BLOX NXT, you get built-in, secure tools to handle paywalls, subscriptions, e-Editions and multi-site operations, along with audience insights. It helps streamline your workflows, without juggling third-party plugins.”
BLOX NXT lauded by industry experts
Early feedback from BLOX Digital's Partner Research Group underscores the game-changing potential of BLOX NXT, with users praising its design, functionality and reliability.
Christine Loureiro, senior editor of digital strategy at Torstar, highlighted the platform's modern interface and group editing capabilities: “Fresh new look is good! Most excited about concurrent or collaborative stories. Can we have it now?”
Tim Kelley, senior editor of products and partnerships at Lee Enterprises, emphasized the value of easy access to KPIs. “When it comes to using the tools in the current BLOX, the data is scattered across different corners. Pulling into one place makes this so much easier. Quicker and more reliable to interpret what’s going on. Great!” he said.
For Mike Sunnucks, national enterprise editor at Adams Publishing Group (APG), the platform's reliability is unmatched. “The system is really reliable. I don’t worry about BLOX. It's a workhorse. Keep it all there,” he said.
Looking ahead to full launch
General availability of BLOX NXT is slated for March of 2025. Existing BLOX CMS partners can look forward to a seamless upgrade, ensuring minimal disruption. New customers upgrading to BLOX Digital’s solution suite in 2025 will gain access to BLOX NXT as part of their implementation package.
“We're thrilled to share this revolutionary system with the industry and can't wait to see how organizations transform their workflows with BLOX NXT,” Ward said.
