(The Hollywood Reporter) Boeing Co. said it will develop a global wireless
communications network to offer live television and Internet access on airplanes.

The world's biggest plane maker is calling its service Connexion by Boeing and is
building it with Spain's Finmeccanica SpA, as well as Loral Space & Communications,
Matsushita, Mitsubishi and Alenia. Content partners include CNN and CNBC.

Boeing will use 55-inch-long antennas across each plane's upper fuselage that will
keep the aircraft in contact with the nearest satellite.

Boeing's announcement comes seven weeks after News Corp. said it had teamed with
Rockwell International to bring TV and the Internet to airplanes in a joint venture
called In Flight Network.
