By: E&P Staff With Bolivian national daily La Razon, The New York Times has added another name to the list of overseas newspapers that carry its International weekly supplement.
"Our agreement will expand the information we offer, which today is dominated by local news coverage, and it bring us closer to the global stage with which readers are less familiar," Razon Editorial Director Grover Yapura said in a statement.
Owned by Spain's Prisa group (publisher of El Pais), La Paz-based Razon reported the agreement with the Times late last month, well before this week's Times announcement. According to Razon, negotiations began in April, and it was to begin distributing the supplement July 4.
Prepared by a New York Times News Service staffers and employing Times layout and typography, the 7-year-old weekly supplement includes news, features, opinion and images covering U.S. and world affairs, business, culture and social trends.
