Boone Newspapers Join TownNews Network

By: Boone Newspapers Inc. of Tuscaloosa, Ala., have joined the TownNews.com network, based in Moline, Ill.

TownNews CEO and General Manager Marc Wilson said 26 Boone newspapers will convert to the TownNews online publishing system by June 30. The papers' Web sites were previously designed in house.

The Boone papers are also participating in TownNews.com's Special Web Advertising Team (SWAT) program, which sends reps into the newspaper's community to assist with online advertising sales. So far, TownNews said the SWAT teams have sold $100,000 in online advertising at 12 of the Boone newspapers.

Boone's newspapers are in Alabama, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.
