By: E&P Staff Bruce Springsteen joined the ranks of heavy hitting New York Times opinion columnists today with a piece titled "Chords for Change," explaining why he would be hitting the road in October to make his first explicitly partisan election pitch.
To no one's surprise, he is backing Kerry-Edwards. The Times also covered the just-announced October tour of swing states, which features artists ranging from Bonnie Raitt to Babyface, in its news section.
In his op-ed, Springsteen explained that in his own work, "I've always tried to ask the hard questions." While he does not believe Kerry and Edwards "have all the answers," he feels they "are sincerely interested in asking the right questions."
He also denounced tax cuts for the rich, including "corporate bigwigs" and "well-to-do guitar players."
