By: Daryl Lang The Big Picture blog on Boston.com posted a very popular
photo gallery this week of photos from the election demonstrations in Iran. The photographs, all from wire services, offered graphic evidence of the severity of the protests, and generated tremendous attention on Twitter and current affairs blogs.
Big Picture editor Alan Taylor tells Photo District News that within the first 24 hours, the post got 750,000 page views and 1,500 comments. So far it's gathered comments faster than any other post in the site's history.
However, it has a way to go before becoming the most popular entry on the site. Taylor says the Big Picture
gallery from President Obama's inauguration has been viewed 4.6 million times.
