'Boston Globe' Launches Site For Local Moms

Posted
By: E&P Staff Boston Globe Media on Monday launched a Web site for local mothers.

BoMoms (www.BoMoms.com) was created with input from a group of Boston-area mothers that became known as the "Motherboard." The mothers will continue to be involved the site through a feature called Mom's Essentials.

The site, which can also be accessed through the Lifestyle section of Boston.com, features a searchable database of listings, and a calendar of events such as children's programs, parenting forums, and local fairs, performances, and more - ranging from the very large to the very local. Users can submit their own listings.

BoMoms also features ongoing forums on parenting topics, and blogs written by women at varying stages of motherhood.

"The goal of BoMoms is to be the ultimate local resource for busy moms -- because all of its recommendations come straight from the mouths of real moms who have tried and tested them," Alexandra Hall, editor of the site, said in a statement.
