Boston.com Adds More Towns to Hyperlocal Sites

By: E&P Staff Fresh from celebrating its one-year anniversary, Boston.com's Your Town is expanding its cluster of hyperlocal sites to cover two additional towns, Arlington and Dedham.

Your Town now consists of sites covering 16 communities in the Boston area including Brookline, Framingham, Hingham, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Natick, Needham, Newton, Norwell, Scituate, Somerville, Waltham and Wellesley.

"The Your Town program continually exceeds our expectations for audience engagement," Robert Kempf, Boston.com vice president, product, said in a statement. "The ability to aggregate information from a host of different sources -- from local news to pertinent information down to the ability for residents to get something as simple as a street light or pothole repaired -- has helped each community actively embrace its respective sites."

Your Town has incorporated special features over the past year including, a "see, click, and fix" interactive map, listings and guides. The sites have also partnered with Flyerboard, which provides ad units friendly to small businesses.
