'Branson Daily News' Names Schuver Publisher

By: E&P Staff Michael Schuver has been named publisher of the Branson (Mo.) Daily News. His appointment was announced to Daily News staffers Tuesday morning.

Since 1991, Schuver has served as an officer and stockholder of Tri-Lakes Newspapers Inc., the Branson Tri-Lakes newspaper's parent company. Schuver is also vice president of Lancaster Management Inc., the Alabama-based company that owns the Daily News, along with 17 other newspapers in nine states. He replaces Ted Delaney, who resigned his postion last month.

"Moving forward, our goal here at the newspaper is very simple," Schuver told the Daily News. "We want to give our readers a terrific newspaper to read. We also want to give our advertisers an effective and affordable way to market their goods and services."

The 52-year-old Schuver holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of Iowa. A native of that state, Schuver has previously worked as a reporter, as well as a newspaper publisher in Iowa.
