By: E&P Staff Brazil's O Globo, Extra and Expresso have started production with the latest release of the Atex Advertising Solution.
The ad system was tightly integrated into the SAP business system that Infoglobo, publisher of the dailies and other newspapers, chose to manage finance, business analytics, account receivables and circulation.
Ad taking begins with SAP Media modules. Atex developed an interface to manage ad composition, workflow and pagination, allowing the SAP client to use Atex components for all ad composition and text processing, while financial and customer data are stored in the central SAP database. Atex components also manage price-sensitive data, such as linage and word count, enabling flexible rating rules and dynamic price generation, calculated by SAP modules, while composing ads.
The challenge for Atex "was to replace older technology pieces and to create a new interface inside the SAP client, allowing a quick switch to the new applications," Atex Sales Director Marcelo Vieira said in a statement. "Since this is a mission-critical production system, we had to perform intensive test sessions to make sure that the reliability of our integration is aligned with Infoglobo expectations."
