By: E&P Staff A 100-year-old columnist has been hired by The Camden New Journal newspaper in London, England.

An article in England's Press Gazette magazine noted that Rose Hacker's first CNJ piece last week was on the threat of world war and the British media's partial reporting on nuclear proliferation.

Hacker was asked to write a column after CNJ's editor heard her speak at an event remembering the victims of U.S. atomic bombs dropped on Japan in 1945.

"It's strange coming into journalism at such an old age," Hacker told the Press Gazette. "It keeps the adrenaline going -- it keeps me alive."
