'Burlington (Vt.) Free Press' Names New President/Publisher

By: E&P Staff Bradley I. Robertson has been named president and publisher at The Burlington (Vt.) Free Press. He most recently served as vice president/advertising at The Des Moines (Iowa) Register.

Robertson succeeds James Carey, who will become the Free Press? chairman. Carey has been president and publisher since 1991.

Robertson joined Gannett in 1994 as a circulation analyst for The News Journal at Wilmington, Del. He moved to the Fort Collins Coloradoan as a manager of circulation sales, then became manager of sales and marketing at the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader.

In 1999, Robertson was named director of circulation sales for the Detroit Newspaper Agency. Four years later, he became director of business development at Des Moines. He was named vice president of business development there in 2004, and vice president of advertising a few months later.
