Bush Consults Attorney in Novak Case

Posted
By: Dave Astor President Bush has consulted an outside lawyer in case he needs to be represented by him in the grand-jury investigation of last year's leak of a CIA operative's name, according to reports from CBS and The Associated Press.

The operative -- named in a column by Robert Novak of the Chicago Sun-Times and Creators Syndicate -- is the wife of Joseph Wilson. The leak was seen as retaliation for Wilson criticizing the Bush administration's Iraq policy.

Washington attorney Jim Sharp is the lawyer Bush would retain if necessary.
