Business Seeks IDs of Anonymous Pantagraph Commenters

BLOOMINGTON – If you think comments posted beneath news stories on the Internet are anonymous, be warned. They might not be.

Many news outlets that allow public comments on their websites are willing to give up private information about commenters without much of a fight. That appears to be the case involving public comments written about last summer’s warehouse collapse in Bloomington on the Pantagraph’s website.
