'Butler Eagle' Ad Director Dies at 60

By: Kenneth M. McElroy, the advertising director for the Butler Eagle and a former executive at Thomson Newspapers, has died. He was 60.

McElroy, of Butler, died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital of a heart attack.

He started his newspaper career at Thomson Newspapers, where he worked for 30 years in positions including director of advertising, corporate trainer and vice president of national advertising.

After leaving Thomson, he became director of advertising at the Kenosha News in Kenosha, Wis., for six years before joining the Butler Eagle in April 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Uhl McElroy, and two sisters. He will be buried Monday at St. Michael Cemetery in Bradford, Ind.
