By: E&P Staff The California Newspaper Association (CNPA) and the ethnic-newspaper association New California Media (NCM) have formed a partnership to sell advertising into hundreds of ethnic and mainstream papers.

CNPA Advertising Services, which previously had been able to place ads in papers in California and across the U.S., will now have the ability to offer ad placements in the more than 700 foreign-language and ethnic papers represented by NCM. Under the alliance, which was announced this week in the CNPA Bulletin, ads for the ethnic papers ordered through CNPA will be placed and billed by NCM, while ads for CNPA papers ordered through NCM will be placed and billed by CNPA.

"Our clients frequently want to buy ethnic and foreign-language publications," CNPA Advertising Services Director Sharla Trillo told the Bulletin. "We're happy to have this connection.

With the new alliance CNPA Advertising Services is considering a name change, CNPA said.

NCM is a nine-year-old organization that offers one order/one bill placement of ads across ethnic media, and facilitates the exchange editorial content between ethnic publications.
