CareerBuilder Names Ferguson Prez

By: E&P Staff CareerBuilder.com, the job search company jointly owned by Gannett Co. Inc., Tribune Co., and Knight Ridder, has named Matt Ferguson president.

Ferguson, 36, has been chief operating officer since March 2002. He will continue to hold that title. Bob Montgomery remains CareerBuilder's CEO.

The Chicago-based company also reported that its revenue for the first nine months of 2003 increased 41% over the same period last year. Third quarter revenue was up 61% and user traffic jumped 50% in the last year, the company said.

Ferguson came to CareerBuilder when the company acquired Headhunter.net, where he served as senior vice president.

CareerBuilder includes job classifieds from over 130 newspapers.
