By: E&P Staff Gina Felix has been named publisher of the Carthage (Mo.) Press, the paper announced Saturday.
Felix will continue to serve as advertising manager, a position she's held since 2007, in addition to her duties as publisher.
"Gina understands what makes a newspaper successful, and that?s publishing a quality product that citizens will want to read and businesses will want to use to advertise their products and services to the community,"Rick Rogers, regional manager of the Press, told the paper.
This is the third major promotion at the Press in recent days. Last week, the paper appointed John Hacker to managing editor, with John McClintock associated editor/newsroom.
"The staff truly cares about the community and the newspaper,? Felix told the Press. "Our goal is to better serve the area and to be involved with the community ... We will strive to be the best hometown newspaper representing the community well."
A Kansas native, Felix previously served as publisher/general manager/advertising manager at The Cushing (Okla.) Daily Citizen, a five-day paper.
