Cartoonist Signe Wilkinson Wins Thomas Nast Award

By: E&P Staff Philadelphia Daily News editorial cartoonist Signe Wilkinson has won the Thomas Nast Award for international cartooning from the Overseas Press Club, the Daily News reported today.

The 1992 Pulitzer Prize recipient is syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group.

Nast (1840-1902) is considered the father of modern editorial cartooning.

Wilkinson's award was mentioned today on The Comics Reporter blog.
