Catalan Daily to Publish with Protec Milenium

Posted
By: E&P Staff To publish its two editions from six editorial offices, Spain's Diari de Tarragona bought the Milenium Cross Media system from Madrid-based Protec.

Protec's communication protocol for low-speed lines, used in all its applications, enables reporters in various offices to work from a single database, allowing them to view and edit in WYSIWYG mode from any location using the Internet. Remote reporter access also will allow the Catalan daily to extend its editorial deadline while reducing communication costs.

Milenium Cross Media will enable the newspaper to integrate in a single workflow its contracting, management, and archiving of advertising with its content management and production, leading to cost savings and more efficient use of resources.

Another reason Diari de Tarragona chose the Protec application is the Quay corporate multimedia archive to store content for possible future remarketing and republishing in non-print media.

More than 50 employees at Diari de Tarragona will have Protec applications installed.
