By: E&P Staff Johnny H. Thogersen, former executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Danish publishing systems developer CCI Europe, has joined WoodWing Software in Zaandam, The Netherlands, as business development vice president.
Thogersen spent decades in the publishing software industry, and he returns to the field after two years in the graphic arts industry. He most recently was President of CCI Sourcing, an India-based joint venture that closed earlier this year.
Citing Thogerson's "understanding of the customers' needs," WoodWing Software CEO Hans Janssen added that Thogerson "knows where the publishing industry is heading. That's one of the reasons he and WoodWing make an excellent fit."
Before involvement in the publishing industry, Thogersen was an intelligence office in the Royal Danish Air Force. After joining CCI Europe, he was instrumental in moving it into the newspaper industry. In the early 1990s, Thogersen started CCI's U.S. subsidiary. He later was appointed to the parent company's management board, where he assumed responsibility for sales, project management, customer service, research and strategy.
Thogersen said he's known WoodWing's senior management team for many years. "For almost a decade, I have been following WoodWing's development closely," he said in a statement.
