By: E&P Staff The Wall Street Journal announced today that it's partnering with Dow Jones Newswires to revamp and expand its "Heard on the Street" column.

Now, the "Heard" has more than a dozen news staffers located in the U.S., Europe, and Asia contributing to the daily column in all three editions of the newspaper and providing updates during global trading days that will be featured first in several real-time information services from Dow Jones Newswires and later in the subscriber content of WSJ.com.

The "Heard" page on WSJ.com includes the column plus Web-only analysis updated during the day. The site also features embedded charts and links to the Journal's company research pages.

Thorold Barker is the editor of "Heard" editorial team. He recently joined the Journal from the Financial Times where he was U.S. editor of the paper's "Lex" column.

Dow Jones Newswires journalists who contributed to "The Skeptic" -- a DJN column that provides a critical examination of corporate strategy, industry trends, and markets throughout the trading day -- will join the new "Heard" editorial team. All of "The Skeptic" team's reporting will now be under the "Heard" brand.

And starting today, the "Heard" column -- which began in the 1960s -- has expanded to cover the top half of the Money & Investing section's back page every weekday.
