Charleston 'Post and Courier' Promotes Three in Newsroom

By: E&P Staff The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C. has announced three promotions in its newsroom, effective this month.

Stephanie Harvin has been promoted to features editor. Harvin, who joined the newspaper in 1978 as a reporter, spent 14 years as a photographer and 11 years as a reporter in the features department. Since 2003 she has served as an assistant city editor and region editor.

Marcus Amaker has been named Preview editor. Previously, he was a features page designer. Amaker has won two South Carolina Press Association awards for design, and has published three books of poetry and released three albums of music.

Shirley Greene has been promoted to city editor. She joined the paper in 1977 as a reporter and has since served as assistant city editor, weekend editor, North Charleston bureau editor, zones editor, and Faith & Values editor.
