By: E&P Staff Ever since the rival Chicago Tribune raised its single-copy price to 75 cents at the end of 2007, the front page of the Chicago Sun-Times has had a legend reading, "STILL 50 cents." That design element was missing Friday as the tabloid announced that as of March 30, the newsstand price of the Sun-Times will be 75 cents as well.
The Sunday single-copy price will remain unchanged at $1.50, the paper's management said in a memo to employees.
In a letter to subscribers, the Sun-Times also said seven-day home delivery would increase to $1.50 a week, effective March 30.
The Sun-Times last increased its single-copy price five years ago. Its parent, Sun-Times Media Group, said it is not raising the price of the other dozens of dailies and weeklies it publishes in the Chicago metropolitan area.
