'Chicago Tribune' Launches Monthly Polybag Ad Vehicle

Posted
By: The Chicago Tribune on Tuesday delivered the first "TRIBPack," a monthly advertising package, in the polybags of papers delivered to what it described as "selected subscribers."

Those subscribers -- described in promotion materials as having an average household income of $122,000 and an average home value of $355,000 -- will get TRIBPack once a month in the Tuesday paper. The first shrink-wrapped package delivered to a subscriber on the northwest side of Chicago included 10 four-color glossy cards the size of a large postcard. Among the advertisers were several home remodeling advertisers, a piano retailer, New Balance shoes and Sears Hearing Aid Centers.

In its promotional materials, the Tribune emphasized the upmarket status of potential advertisers. The paper said it was offering zoned and full-run options to reach as many as 250,000 home-delivery subscribers.
