By: E&P Staff Central China's Zhengzhou Daily has ordered a 75,000-copy-per-hour Goss Universal press to improve its productivity and color capacity.

In the Henan Province capital, the company publishes its flagship daily, the Zhengzhou Evening News, Evening News Readers Digest and a Web site, www.zynews.com.

The new Goss press -- the plant's second Universal -- will have 16 shaftless printing units, two jaw folders and five reelstands, allowing it to handle more contract jobs. It now prints more than 20 national newspapers, including the Economic Daily.

Since the first eight-unit Universal was installed in 1999, Zhengzhou Daily has become a full-color 12-page broadsheet. Its sister paper, Zhengzhou Evening News, focuses on local news and enjoys the highest circulation in the city.

How Dublin Inquirer uses legal risk assessments to keep accountability journalism moving

When Dublin Inquirer publishes a sensitive accountability story, the challenge isn’t just reporting the facts. It’s deciding whether a small, seven-person newsroom can afford the legal risks that sometimes come with telling the public what it needs to know. For editor and co-founder Sam Tranum and deputy editor Lois Kapila, those decisions once came down to late-night conversations and educated guesswork. Today, the independent Dublin newsroom relies on Reporters Shield’s Legal Risk Assessment service to help identify potential legal vulnerabilities before publication—allowing journalists to move forward with greater confidence while keeping important stories alive.
