By: E&P Staff Chris Jennewein is heading back to San Diego. The senior vice president and publisher of Greenspun Interactive is leaving Las Vegas to take the position of president of the San Diego News Network (SDNN).
"I'm excited to be joining this trend-setting company that will create the model for how local news is covered and distribute in the future," Jennewein said on SDNN, which
reported the news. "San Diego News Network's combination of dedicated journalists, committed partners and custom technology puts it in the unique position to provide local readers with simply the best interactive experience. The potential is virtually unlimited, and I'm looking forward to being a part of it."
SDNN was started by former SignOnSanDiego -- the web site of the San Diego Union-Tribune -- executive Ron James with the help of
investors Barbara Bry and Neil Senturia.
Before Jennewein joined Greenspun Interactive, publisher of the Las Vegas Sun, in August of 2008, he was the head of SignOnSanDiego.
"Chris is going to play a vital role in continuing our rapid growth, and we're ecstatic to have him here," said Senturia who serves as CEO of SDNN.
