iExalt.com, a Christian portal site, has acquired a monthly
newspaper that publishes eight editions in California.

Christian Times, published by El Cajon-based Keener
Communications Group, reaches 180,000 readers monthly by
distributing through churches and individual subscriptions,
according to the company.

iExalt plans to use content from the Christian Times on
its Web site, and to advertise the portal in its print
newspapers. Houston-based iExalt predicts the acquisition will
increase its annual gross revenues to $9.5 million. The
Christian portal also hopes to use the Christian Times
newspaper as a model for expanding into print in other regions.

Christian Times newspapers got their start in 1988 when
the Keener family acquired a small Christian classified shopper
in San Diego.
