CIO Named at 'St. Pete Times'

By: E&P Staff Janet H. Woods has been promoted to chief innovation officer at the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times. She has been acting CIO since June.

"In that short period her positive influence has already been significant," Jana Jones, vice president and CFO, said in a statement. "Janet has set an agenda for quick and effective implementation of technology along with excellent collaboration around the company."

Woods, 64, has worked at the St. Petersburg Times since 1965, starting in the newsroom. She is a three-time recipient of the Penney-Missouri Journalism award for best feature sections. She joined the IT department in 1997 and led the implementation of pagination and archiving systems as well as a preprint order entry system.

Woods lives in St. Petersburg with her husband, Woody.
