Class Action Suit Filed Against ADVO

By: E&P Staff The Radnor, Pa.-based law firm of Schiffrin & Barroway has filed a class action lawsuit against ADVO in the U.S. District Court of Connecticut.

The complaint charges that ADVO executives misrepresented the success of its business and future prospects, that the company lacked internal controls, and that ADVO reported false financial results.

?ADVO shareholders were stunned when Valassis Communications announced it had sued ADVO in the Delaware Chancery Court to rescind its $1.3 billion merger agreement with ADVO based on fraud and material charges,? said a release from the law firm.

Attorneys with Schiffrin & Barroway are seeking lead plaintiffs in the case.
