CNHI Buys 'Muskogee Daily Phoenix'

By: E&P Staff Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. has acquired the Muskogee (Okla.) Daily Phoenix from the Gannett Foundation. Terms of the deal, brokered by Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, were not disclosed.

"The Daily Phoenix is an outstanding community newspaper, and because it is situated near so many of our other Oklahoma markets, it's an excellent fir that greatly strengthens our presence," Donna Barrett, CEO of CNHI, said in a statement.

The paper has a daily circulation of 15,961 and is located about 50 miles southeast of Tulsa, Okla. CNHI owns 15 daily papers in Oklahoma.
