By: E&P Staff Enovation, Valhalla, N.Y., worked with the Columbia (Mo.) Daily Tribune this spring to switch the paper to Fujifilm LP-NN plate.
Among other technical and business considerations, Daily Tribune Supply Manager Roger Uher cited Enovation's distribution system, which, in addition to his own supply, provides a back-up inventory in St. Louis and another in Hanover Park, Ill.
The afternoon daily also prints The New York Times and commercial work, keeing operations going around the clock, seven days a week.
The LP-NN plate's complex grain structure consists of primary grain, honeycomb grain and micropores which promote greater printing efficiently, faithful tone reproduction, long process life, and simple platemaking, according to Enovation. Its sensitivity makes it compatible with the fastest platesetter systems.
