Columnist Launches Will Rogers Blog

By: E&P Staff Columnist Robert Haught has launched a blog called "Will Rogers, Writer."

"It's an appreciation of his works and good writing in general," said Haught, a Virginia resident who does the "Potomac Junction" column for The Oklahoman of Oklahoma City and the self-syndicated "Now I'm No Expert" column.

Haught is also secretary of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists, for which he created the Will Rogers Humanitarian Award that's given to a columnist each year.

Rogers (1879-1935) was a columnist, author, actor, radio host, and more. Haught said Rogers wrote more than 4,000 columns that were syndicated to 600 newspapers.
