Comic for a Melting-Pot World

By: Dave Astor A comic starring a multiethnic child is being launched Aug. 16 by United Feature Syndicate.

"Silo Roberts" is by Rob Cabrera, 29, an elementary-school teacher and former standup comedian who, like many Americans, is multiracial himself.

His title character's ancestry is part African, Caucasian, Hispanic, Italian, and Japanese. Silo is a middle child who lives in a single-parent household with his mother, a journalist; his older brother, an athlete; and his younger sister, an animal lover.
