By: E&P Staff The Wall Street Journal Mobile, which will provide up-to-the-minute business and financial news from The Wall Street Journal Online directly to a cell phone, along with comprehensive market, stock, and commodities data, and personalized portfolio information, will launch in early 2005, the Journal announced yesterday.
The service has been developed by Summus, Inc., a leading provider of mobile media applications, and will be made available via most major U.S. wireless carriers. The cost will be $3.99 per month, billed by the carriers.
"We have combined our 24-hour global financial-news capabilities with an intuitive, state-of-the-art user interface, enabling consumers to stay current with all the news and data needed for business and financial success," Jessica Perry, vice president of business development, Consumer Electronic Publishing, Dow Jones & Co., which includes The Wall Street Journal Online, said in a statement.
