AUSTIN, Texas (May 24, 2011)-Community Impact Newspaper today announced the launch of its 11th paper, its second new paper in 60 days, expanding circulation to 700,000 homes and businesses in Texas. Beginning Friday, May 20, homeowners, renters and business owners in San Marcos, Kyle and Buda can expect the first edition of this monthly publication to land in their mailboxes free of charge. Community Impact Newspaper's CEO John Garrett will serve as market publisher, Melissa Daly will serve as general manager.

"We are thrilled to expand our paper to San Marcos, Kyle and Buda, marking our first paper in Hays County," Garrett, said. "As our paper continues to grow and out outlets multiply, we will continue to pride ourselves on the motto we've had from the beginning, ‘Local. Useful. Everyone Gets It'."

The San Marcos, Kyle and Buda edition will staff 4 employees, who will continue to work from Community Impact's central office until an office space for this market is established in the coming months.

"We have been working towards and anticipating the Hays County launch for a long time, and as my family relocates to San Marcos this month I am looking forward to being an active participant within the community," Daly, said. "Hays County is a Central Texas jewel and, in addition to sharing news with residents and businesses, we're excited to make the most of this outdoor playground in our spare time."

Community Impact Newspaper is a National Newspaper Association award-winning paper named by Inc. magazine in 2010 as the fasting growing media company in Texas. All Community Impact Newspapers are full-color, hyper-local business journals for the "average" citizen, breaking down complex economic developments issues, transportation projects and city council meetings. The San Marcos, Kyle and Buda paper will take on the same format as all Community Impact Newspapers, reporting on small businesses, community news, real estate developments, education and healthcare among other key issues while offering an opportunity for business owners to advertise. When the first edition of Community Impact Newspaper launched in 2005, the paper was only mailed to residents and business owners in Pflugerville and Round Rock, Texas. At that time, there were three full-time employees within the company, but the staff has now grown to 70 employees across the state. When he first started out, Garrett's vision was to build a company that would provide local news to the immediate area surrounding his own community, but he didn't stop there. Since its initial paper, the company has launched a total of 10 papers; seven editions in and around Austin, two editions in the Houston area and one in DFW.
