WELLINGTON: About 200,000 newspaper subscribers in four New Zealand cities have missed out on their morning papers after a computer glitch stopped the presses.

Allen Williams, chief executive of Fairfax Media, which publishes 11 New Zealand newspapers, says he was "bitterly disappointed" that readers in Wellington, Christchurch, Timaru and Invercargill did not get their Tuesday morning editions. He says subscribers in several other cities will receive smaller-than-normal afternoon papers Tuesday.
