Computer Problems Delay Philly Papers' Delivery

Posted
By: Meg Campbell A "computer error" at the Conshohocken, Pa., printing plant of Philadelphia Media Holdings caused delivery delays lasting up to three hours this past Monday for The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News.

PMH began bringing a major prepress upgrade online this month with the first of four Krause LS Jet 300 violet computer-to-plate systems. The paper also recently upgraded its press console controls, installing PrintLogix software and 18 consoles on its nine Goss Colorliner presses. The computer glitch was unrelated to either project, according to Rockwell Automation and Fujifilm Fraphic Systems, which handles U.S. sales for Krause.

Calls to managers at PMH were not immediately returned.
