By: (AP) Contents of the threatening letter sent to this town's The Times Argus this week, which arrived with a powdery substance (later deemed harmless), has been disclosed to the newspaper's top executives.
But editors decided not to publish all of it while an investigation is continuing.
FBI Special Agent Christopher Destito disclosed the contents of the letter to the paper's publisher, editor, and general manager yesterday.
That came after the newspaper and its lawyer complained about the information being withheld.
The Times Argus had been trying to find out the details of the threat since the letter was removed from its Barre office Monday, following an anthrax scare that proved to be unwarranted.
Although details haven't been disclosed, the letter did contain an ongoing threat to the newspaper related to its regular publication of Vermont residents who file for bankruptcy.
