Copies of College Paper in Rhode Island Stolen From Newsstands

Posted
By: Nine hundred copies of the student newspaper at Bryant University were stolen from five newsstands last week.

Editors of the weekly paper, called The Archway, suspect someone may have wanted to hide a front-page story about a Bryant student who was involved in a car accident that left several people injured and occurred near the campus.

The student, Joshua Lipton, was arraigned last month on a count of driving under the influence, serious injury resulting.

His lawyer, Kevin Bristow, said his client had nothing to do with the newspaper thefts.

A Bryant spokeswoman said the theft was being investigated.

The newspapers are distributed free on campus. "It's disheartening when the work of 15 of us goes into

something and someone can just wreck it by an immature act," said Ryan Daley, the newspaper's opinion editor.
