By: Darrell Coleman, the publisher of the Wichita Falls Times Record News, returns to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times as publisher.

Coleman starts his new job Jan. 11. He replaces Patrick Birmingham, who left in October to become president and publisher of the Knoxville, Tenn., News-Sentinel.

All three newspapers are owned by Cincinnati-based E.W. Scripps Co.

Coleman, who's 53, was vice president and chief financial officer of the Caller-Times from 1994 to 2000. He was the CFO of the Texas Harte-Hanks Communications properties until that company sold its newspapers to Scripps in 1997.

The Corpus Christi newspaper also announced Monday that online general manager Libby Averyt has been named vice president of advertising, effective immediately.
