'Corvallis (Ore.) Gazette-Times' Gets New Publisher

Posted
By: E&P Staff After 26 years in the newsroom of The Missoulian in Missoula, Mont., Editor Mike McInally is leaving the paper to become publisher of the Corvallis (Ore.) Gazette-Times.

McInally has held a variety of positions in the Missoulian newsroom, from serving as an intern on the police beat to editor of the entertainment section. He was named editor in 1997.

"It's safe to say that I've continued to rise to my level of incompetence," McInally told the Missoulian this week for a story announcing his new position. "It's spectacular that someone like me with so few job skills can do something they love and make a living."

McInally has been active in the Montana Newspaper Association, most recently serving as the group's president.

Both The Missoulian and the Corvallis (Ore.) Gazette-Times are owned by Davenport, Iowa-based Lee Enterprises.
