Courier-Journal Names New Executive Editor

Neil Budde, a former editor and reporter for The Courier-Journal and a trailblazer in digital news publishing, is returning to Kentucky to lead the state’s largest newspaper.

Courier-Journal president and publisher Wes Jackson introduced Budde to the staff as the new executive editor Thursday afternoon.

Budde, a member of the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame, replaces Bennie Ivory, who retired in July after 16 years at the newspaper.
