Atlanta, Ga.-- Cox Media Group (CMG) has named Christopher Caneles as its new vice president for CMG Newspaper Shared Services. This role is essential to CMG’s continuing consolidation, outsourcing and process improvement efforts at the company’s four major metro newspapers.
“As head of this new shared services organization, Christopher will provide strong leadership and functional support to our newspapers in critical areas, including ad production, customer service and call centers, advertising order services and content page design and editing,” said Mike Joseph, publisher of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and CMG Group Vice President. “Christopher also brings exceptional technical expertise in the nuances of our business, as well as a personal passion for the success and growth of newspapers.”
A 33-year newspaper veteran, Caneles has worked in or with every department in a newspaper. His experience spans a range of companies, including Cox, McClatchy and Hearst Corp., with key leadership and operational roles at multiple newspapers across the United States.
