Cox Newspapers' Director of Purchasing Retires

By: E&P Staff Ramsey Altman, director of purchasing at Cox Newspapers, announced his retirement after 41 years of service. He last day is Nov. 1.

Altman started with the company's Palm Beach Post property in Florida in the advertising department before joining purchasing. In 1977, he moved to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution where he was the key purchasing manager. In 2002, he joined corporate headquarters to support the newspaper division's purchasing and operations.

"Ramsey has made countless contributions to Cox Newspapers during his career and should be congratulated for a job more than well done," Stan Richmond, vice president, operations at Cox Newspapers, said in a statement.
