Creative Circle Advertising Solutions Wins Funding

By: E&P Staff Creative Circle Advertising Solutions Inc. (CCAS), based in the Design and Business Center at the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, has closed a round of financing that includes venture money raised from Rhode Island-based Cherrystone Angel Group, The Slater Technology Fund, Walnut Ventures Associates and a small-business loan provided by the state's Economic Development Corp.

A joint venture between Creative Circle Media Consulting, which provides consulting, design, and training for newspapers, and Sprintout, a Web content-management company, CCAS provides a Web-entry classified advertising system that helps users write effective ads. CCAS also has a community journalism product and several other products in development.

CCAS founder and CEO Bill Ostendorf said in a statement that he anticipates expanding staff and ramping up operations.

CCAS has installed its products at several newspapers in the U.S., Ireland, and New Zealand. Last month, it launched adQ with its first broadcast client, NBC 10 in Rhode Island.
