By: E&P Staff Rick Newcombe, founder and president of Creators Syndicate, will be a featured speaker at the annual conference of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists, on June 25-27, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Ventura, Calif.
The conference?s theme will be ?Survive and Thrive.? One of the most asked questions by columnists everywhere is "How can I become syndicated?" and Newcombe will provide attendees some suggestions.
"We're not in the newspaper business, we're in the content business, and so a lot of our new business is coming from new media -- iPods, cell phones, the Internet,? he said. ?Our goal is to find the very best content.?
Newcombe joins a roster of well-known speakers, including Jon Carroll of the San Francisco Chronicle; Jeffrey Zaslow of The Wall Street Journal (co-author of ?The Last Lecture?); and humorist W. Bruce Cameron, Creators Syndicate columnist and author of ?8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter.?
